Link-Up Counsellor located in Broome. Extensive travel required throughout the Kimberley Region.
KSGAC is a not for profit community controlled Organisation specifically established to obtain some justice for members of the Kimberley Stolen Generation and their immediate family. Our focus is to facilitate research and reunification of family members separated through the forced removal policies and processes of past Australian governments.
This position reports to the Link-Up Team Leader of KSGAC.
Your role is to provide counselling and support to Stolen Generation members and clients, utilising sound and culturally appropriate counselling techniques and methodologies. The candidates must be experienced counsellor with the right attitude to work within a small organisation and with traumatised and severely affected clients. You must also have an understanding of the removal policies that affected members of the Stolen Generation and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and in a community based, not for profit organisation.
The positions are subject to funding via the National Link-up program and we are pleased to offer a 12 months full time contract at this point in time.
